Microwaves .... my old passion

Microwaves have been there for more than 70 years , and for sure it will continue. I remember in collage days , my colleges used to consider its exam is the nightmare that been created specifically for any Telecommunication engineer. Although I didn't agree with that but i respected the thought itself- my graduation project was MW so I know exactly what they mean-.I think this was because Microwaves is basically relaying on the deep understanding of higher Mathematics. I used to say that the complexity of higher mathematics modeling needs an applied science to make use of that model , that is where the Microwaves arrives.

The huge improvements in Computers have made the Microwave modeling a true reality , and based on this we now have this revolution of Telecommunications. From UL to MW Frequency there is an invention everyday.

As I can't keep my eye away from the continues updates on the MW i recently have read a very interesting articles about new invention, I think the most interesting one was using the noise as a Radar !.

Do you remember the Noise that in old days we used to work with it and do the best to reduce or eliminate - practically impossible - , Now it is used in a way to draw a full picture of an object. The method relays behind that is every object produces a noise with different patterns when exposed to different spectrum of Radio waves, along with the reflection of of the source waves. So in old days we were interested in the reflected waves - in specific spectrum (the Radar Waves)- and we ignore the noise produced.

Now We are interested on the noise produced , its pattern, its frequency spectrum ,its amplitude and direction. With deep analysis of the noise pattern produced from the object we manage to draw an image of that object and even decided what kind of materials it have.

This might been tackled before but the new in this is that you draw images for objects behind barriers ! yes that is true. The walls that made of cement , the waves penetrates it and the object behind the wall exposes to the waves and then the differences between the noise of the wall and the object will draw the picture of that object.

So based on this can we imagine the applications of that, Will i think the first thing will come to mind is "See across walls & barriers ". So it can be used in rescue missions , in Police, in medicine, and alot more fields than we can imagine.
